Bitcoin SV does not need support from @coinbase or any other exchange to be successful. How is that? Because its value can come from being a commodity ledger. That has nothing to do with exchanges & speculation, and everything to do with attracting business use through scale. serpent rider @blogz

"As an alternative medium of exchange, bitcoin has gone essentially nowhere. It has thrived only as a speculative asset — and, in that capacity, trading in bitcoin is being pulled slowly into the very edifice it was meant to pull down."

Speculation on exchanges that bumps Bitcoin's exchange rate may rule the news today, but having a usable chain that merchants, businesses and users can actually use will win over the next 12 months.

Are you okay with paying $50-100 transaction fees? Are you okay waiting hours or even days for a single confirmation? Do you believe that only millionaires and large businesses should be able to afford using Bitcoin?

That is BitcoinCore's vision for the future.

The banks that Bitcoin was meant to replace will in effect take over network usage. Normal users like you will be sidelined and forced onto permissioned sidechains with central authorities. The government of your country will monitor all of your transactions. Businesses will be forced to comply with governmental regulations or be shut down.

Is that the future you want? Even if you get rich quick in the next year or two, is that what you want "money" to be for the world? Does a future like this sound decentralized to you?

Satoshi believed that humanity deserved peer-to-peer electronic cash without central banks, permissioned authorities or other middlemen stealing your hard earned money.

Most people in the world dedicate years of their life working strenuous low-paying jobs in an attempt to climb out of relative poverty. I believe these people deserve a system that works for them instead of allowing financial elites to steal money from of every transaction they make. Any fee for using peer-to-peer electronic cash should go directly to support the operation of that network - to miners - who make significant investments to facilitate those transactions. That is how Bitcoin was expertly designed to work.

If you haven't read Bitcoin's Whitepaper, I urge you to even just browse the first paragraph: https://www.bitcoin.com/bitcoin.pdf

False narrative and censorship will never curtail the need for fast, inexpensive and decentralized peer-to-peer electronic cash.
