Circle equivalent needed, buy things with bitcoin straight from debit card?
I loved circle as a simple way to pay with bitcoins without having to buy them first. I'm looking for something similar now they have removed bitcoin. Preferably an app where I put in the receivers address, they take the payment directly from my card and convert it to bitcoins before sending. Thanks
Alternatives to circle or coinbase for buying bitcoin with debit/credit card at fair prices in UK?
Just got the update on my circle app that they are phasing out bitcoin and I can't buy/sell. Anyone had any success with other exchanges? I know it's a bit lazy of me but I wonder if there's a go-to alternative the community uses to potentially save me some time. Thanks.
Can I not use a temporary debit card on Circle or Coinbase? What can I do to buy Bitcoins immediately?
I opened a checking account with Wells Fargo today and got a temporary debit card, but Circle and Coinbase say my card information is invalid. Can I not link a temporary card to Circle or Coinbase? Also, is there any way for me to immediately buy Bitcoins considering I have a Wells Fargo account?
Just wanted to post an update for anyone else interested. Buying $25 worth of bitcoin via circle, using a Barclays debit card costs exactly £17.36, or about $26.55. Not sure if buying £50 or more gives you a better deal or not. Will post an update As far as I can tell my bank hasn't charged me any other fees for processing or anything, although I will keep an eye on my statements and update if they do. A $1.55 fee for no-hassle, no having to log in to my bank account and send strangers money, instant bitcoin purchase, on my phone, is well worth the 5% or so fee, even if I would prefer it was lower at some point in the future. If someone else wants to do the math, I'd like to see this compared to other services. TL;DR: $25 worth of bitcoin cost $26.55, or £17.36.
Circle.com cancelled my debit card purchase of Bitcoins after it pended for two hours. Why did this happen, and what should I do?
I just today received my permanent Wells Fargo Visa debit card, so might my card be too new to use? Also, should I try to purchase Bitcoins again through Circle.com, should I try to purchase them through another website, should I contact Wells Fargo about a problem using my debit card online (making sure to not mention that I'm trying to buy Bitcoins since banks tend to discriminate against such), or what? Edit: It turns out that Circle just wanted to review my account before letting me purchase any Bitcoins. Coinbase let me purchase Bitcoins with no problem, though. Thanks for the help guys!
Update: Bitcoin via Circle and Barclays Debit card
Just wanted to give a quick update as I had time to sit down and run the figures, feel free to correct me if I've missed something. Trying to be a clear as possible so hopefully this makes sense. TL;DR: Buying BTC from circle costs around 4.29% over bitstamp market value. Unfortunately due to the quirks of circle's only letting me buy USD amounts, I've converted from £ to $. I bought two seperate times on Circle, $50 and $150 (according to barclays statement, equal to £34.79 and £104.44). This resulted in 0.66053107 and 0.22010918. The BTC price on both of those withdrawals was roughly $224 per BTC, and didn't vary much during that week. In theory with no conversion fees, buying straight off bitstamp would equate to 0.669642857 and 0.223214286; i.e. I got less BTC by buying via circle. Circle also charged a 'processing fee', (or my bank did, I'm not really sure), of $1.45 for a $50 deposit and $4.35 for a $150 deposit respectively, for each transaction. Total 'fees' (Processing fee + Difference between bitstamp market rate) were therefore $2.15 and $6.39 for each purchase on circle. Therefore giving us a 4.29% and 4.26% over market rate purchase overall.
I thought circle.com accepted German credit/debit cards? Help me again r/bitcoin....
I've made a couple threads about how it's fucking impossibly complicated for a German (me) to get some bitcoin. I signed up for Circle, verified everything, and of course, the moment I want to add my debit card, they tell me credit cards and bank account from my country aren't accepted yet. So, since this lovely sub has helped me a couple times before, I'd like to ask again. Where can I, asap favorably, add my debit card and get bitcoins if I live in Germany?
I live in a small town, my Debit card won't work with circle, and bank transfers take over a week. How else can I get bitcoin?
I've seen in other threads people recommending using Local Bitcoins, whether it is meeting someone in person or doing a bank transfer at their bank. Other people recommend libertyx or a BTC ATM, but the closest one of either of those is about an hour from me. Are there any other quick alternatives to purchasing BTC?
My experience with Circle was horrible. They say you don’t get charged for debit card transfer however I got charged $11 for $400 transfer. Come to find out it was because it is a business card. They don’t specify business debit card is different. To me not being in the financial sector a debit card is a debit card. They are horrible at ...
